Autumn Lisp Game Jam 2024: Day 6
It’s the sixth day of the jam, so it’s about time to start finalizing the core mechanics, which is exactly what I focused on today 😊 First up, I finished the inventory dialog, and then added a couple of essential items for any adventurer: a health potion and a fireball scroll. For the latter, I implemented a targeting system — you can choose the explosion location with the mouse, or go oldschool and use keyboard!
I’ve also added the ability to drop items via the same inventory dialog, and by the evening I got the level transition working. The game is acutally playable now, although you can keep descending into the dungeon forever since I haven’t added win conditions, as well as ranged attacks, leveling mechanics, weapons, armor and other crucial details yet. I’m hoping to finish all the core mechanics by the weekend, so I can spend the last two days of the jam on generation, balancing and other polishing 💅
